“Abbott Elementary” Star Quinta Brunson Talks Having Social Anxiety

Quinta Brunson Abbott Elementary

ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” Season 2 is currently preparing to debut its Winter Premiere and we can’t wait to see the rest of the episodes to the sophomore season!

While reading up about the episode, we came across an interview where Quinta Brunson spoke about her social anxiety.

During an interview with People, the publications asked Quinta; “What fan encounter touched you most this year?”

She shared:

“I don’t go out that much to public places. I have a little bit of social anxiety that I’m working through. The biggest risk I’ll take is Universal Studios, ’cause I kind of feel like that’s my turf, even though I have no right to say that. But I had a really interesting fan interaction at a party recently, where a girl came up to me and said she had a friend she was watching Abbott with before she passed away. One of the things her friend asked her to do was to finish the show. And now I’m crying at this party.”

Wow that last part really touched the heartstrings here.

We love how open stars are today about their mental health. Celebrities are human as well.

Abbott Elementary Season 2 returns on January 4th with “Read-A-Thon”

Plot:

“The competition heats up between Melissa and Janine as their classes go head-to-head in a read-a-thon sponsored by a local pizza shop; Jacob and Gregory join forces and attempt to get their student-podcasting club off the ground.”

Abbott Elementary stars series creator Quinta Brunson, as well as Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Chris Perfetti, Lisa Ann Walter, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and William Stanford Davis. The story follows a group of dedicated, passionate teachers (as well as a slightly tone-deaf principal) as they navigate the Philadelphia public school system. Despite the odds stacked against them, the staff at Willard R. Abbott Public School is determined to help their students succeed in life. Though these public servants may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do — even if they don’t love the school district’s less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children. The teachers include Janine Teagues (Brunson), Gregory Eddie (Williams), Melissa Schemmenti (Walter), Jacob Hill (Perfetti), and Barbara Howard (Ralph). Ava Coleman (James) is the school’s inept principal, and Mr. Johnson (Davis) is the eccentric janitor.
